Clay Street Project

This rainwater harvest design project was installed in Ashland to provide water solutions to irrigation to fruit trees and shrubs and several vegetable garden areas. We first had to level a pad to place the tanks.

Having a firm level pad with good drainage is the first step in the installation process. We added 2″ of gravel and 2″ of sand to create the pad for the tanks to sit on.

With the pad compacted and leveled we can then locate the tanks and connect the gutters to a rain head and a first-flush diverter.

This is the finished pad with the 2 tanks connected in series. You can see the tank on the left has a 3″ corrugated flexible overflow pipe that drains into a swale to provide water for some shrubs.
